Tajweed
Tajweed is the set of rules for pronouncing the words of the Quran during its recitation. It is compulsory for a Muslim to learn sufficient tajweed to recite the verses of the Quran in their daily prayers without making mistakes that alter the meaning.
Course objective: To complete the Qai’dah whilst being able to pronounce the letters correctly
Course material:
1. Rules of Tajwid – Safar Learn to Read Series
2. Complete Qaidah – Safar Learn to Read Series
Arabic
Learning the language of the Qur’an and the last messenger (ﷺ) improves quality of worship by helping understand the Qur’an and supplications.
Course objective: The course starts at basic level focusing on reading, writing, listening and speaking.
Note: If you are unable to read the Arabic letters this course will not be suitable. Please select Tajweed in which you can learn how to read the letters and their pronunciation.
Course material:
1. Durūs al-Lughah ʿArabiyyah,
2. Arabic Handwriting – Safar Learn Arabic Series
Fiqh
Knowledge of the Obligatory, Recommended, Permissible, Disliked, Prohibited matters in Worship, Transactions and Social interactions. It is obligatory for every Muslim to know what is permissible and impermissible in worship and his or her worldly matters.
Two courses run over one year each in parallel. Each course is divided into modules. Students will be able to select one or more modules.
Course 1 – Primarily Essential Fiqh (compulsory for every Muslim)
- Purification (Wudu, Ghusl, Tayammum, Menstruation, Types of filth etc.)
- ‘Prayer – Essentials’ (Prayer times, Athan, conditions integrals and requisites of Prayer, disliked actions & invalidators of prayer etc.)
- Fasting (Types of fasting, invalidators of fasting, making up for missed fasting, genuine exemptions from fasting, I’tikaaf etc.)
- ‘Prayer – Additional’ (Prayer of the traveller and the sick, exemptions, Taraweeh, Witr, congregational prayers etc.)
- ‘Prayer – Specials’ (Prostration of forgetfulness and recital, Friday and Eid prayers, Funeral prayers and the Burial etc.)
Course material: Ascent to Felicity (Maraqi ‘l-Sa’adat) by Abu ‘l-Ikhlas al-Shurunbulali translated by Faraz A. Khan
Course 2 – Secondarily Essential Fiqh (compulsory depending on the individual’s circumstance and the occasion)
- Islamic Finance
- Marriage
- Zakāt
- Ḥajj and ʿUmrah
- Will and Inheritance
- The permissible and impermissible matters in personal (food, clothing etc) and societal life (interactions, oaths)
Aqaaid
Matters about Allah, Angels, Books, Prophecy, Predestination, the Judgment Day, the Hereafter and the Unseen world, which a Muslim must have a firm belief in. It is obligatory for every Muslim to acquire this knowledge.
Course objective: Students will learn the fundamental beliefs of Islam, be able to clarify any doubts and develop deep conviction in Islam’s belief system.
Course material:
1. Introduction to Islamic Creed (Risalah fi ilm at-Tauheed) by Imam Ibraheem Al-Bajuri and
2. Al-ʿAqīdah at-Ṭaḥāwiyyah
3. Science of Divine Unity Muḥammad Ṣāliḥ al-Furfūr
Saturdays 9 am onwards (exact timings will be confirmed on enrolment)

Payable monthly, quarterly or yearly by BACS, Cash or PayPal
- All the courses are one year long
- The courses are taught in English.
- Monthly fee is calculated base on the cost of the entire course and hence payable also during the months when there are breaks.
- All the courses are designed to be delivered face to face for maximum benefit. However live streaming and access to video recording can be made available upon request.
